Seeking any information on or trying to locate living relatives of Lora & Edward ZUEHLKE.
Edward is the son of Julius Friederich Wilhelm ZUEHLKE and Annie (BIEBER) MATZEK ZUEHLKE. Believe Edward to be only child born to this union. Edward was born March 1885. In the 1900 census is aged 15 living with both parents in Milwaukee.
In 1900 Edward ZUEHLKE’s ½ sister Minnie (MATZEK) MUEHLENBERG is also living in the same household with Edward and his parents. Minnie is with her two young children Gertrude L. (Gertie) and Willard Edward (Will, Willie) MUEHLENBERG. Edward and Minnie are siblings through their mother, but had different fathers, as Annie was a young widow when she married Julius ZUEHLKE.
Minnie is my great-grandmother. I just discovered her ½ brother Edward and am anxious to make contact with anyone researching this family. Minnie had two children after the 1900 census was taken with Anton ZUEHLKE:
1) Fred Anton ZUEHLKE b. 2 March 1904 and
2) Lorraine Anette ZUEHLKE b. 14 August 1908, my grandmother.
We do not know the relationship, if any between Anton ZUEHLKE and Edward ZUEHLKE at this point, though we do suspect there is one. The only connection we have right now is the fact that Minnie’s stepfather Julius and ½ brother Edward are ZUEHLKEs and Anton, the father of two of her children also is a ZUEHLKE.
If you can lend any information about any of the above, please contact me, I’d really love to share information and to try to solve a number of mysteries surrounding these families.
Thanks very much!
