Martin Alvy Zornes’ first wife, Mary Ann Storer, d July 4, 1843. She was born Mar 14, 1821. She was the oldest child of David Storer and Dianna McAtee. They lived at Pond Run and the Ohio River Road (#52), Niles Twp., Scioto, Ohio. Mary Ann is buried in the Storer Cemetery. The inscription on her stone says:

IN
               memory of
                     Mary Ann Storer:
                      Consort of
               MA Zorns. Who
               died July 4th
               1843; Aged , 4 mo

               Tis religion, that can give,
               sweetest pleasure, while i live.
Tis religion, must supply
solid comfort, when I die.

When I visited this cemetery a year ago, I couldn’t read her age on the weathered stone but it must have been 22. Next to Mary Ann their daughter Rebecca is buried. The inscription on her stone reads:

        In
Memory of
Rebecca
daughter of
M.A. & Mary Ann
Zorns, Who
Died May 27th
1843: Aged 1
year & 2 mo

Short, was her life,
Eternal, is her rest.
Who would not die,
To be forever blest.

I am a descendant of David Storer by his first wife, Ruth Hutton. My grandmother Storer grew up on Pond Run.
