Hi there,
I am interested in any information you have concerning the Hamilton connection you have in your family. The James Knox Hamilton you mention goes back to another JK Hamilton:

JAMES KNOX HAMILTON (deceased) was born in De-
cember, 1821, in County Tyrone, Ireland. He died September
14, 1885, at his home in Brownstown, of chronic Bright's disease
of the kidneys. He was married to Margaret Miller, of Hickory,
Washington Co., Penn., in December, 1850. Eight children
were born to them - four males and four females - six of whom are
now living and grown. Their names are Matthew M., James B.,
Jennie, John W., Sadie and Maggie. Mr. Hamilton immigrated
to America in May, 1850.
