Hi Pam,

My Grandma was Elsie Holmanmarried to James Tillman McCarty.
I think it was her uncles who were named Sylvester Sylvanus
Sylvenus and Rolly Holman. Dad called them Uncle Vene Uncle Vess and Uncle Van. Vene and Vess I think were in the civil war and survived andersonville prison barely.
They were never the same health wise.
I would like to know more about the Holman McCarty Connection
which evidently goes way back perhaps to Virginia.
There was a McCArty and a Holman who started the Wynn Dixie
Grocery Chain in the South but I have not made a connection as yet.
Any information would be helpful.
Where is Holman Creek located?

Ned Thornton McCarty.

ps Thornton was my Dads name --named after his Uncle Thorntie Holman.
