Hello,
I'm trying to do a little research into my grandfather's side of the family, and was hoping to get lucky here by another Zimmerman who's related.
Drayton Zimmerman was my grandfather. Born ca 1901 and died in 1957. He was the son (1 of 5) of Samuel and Julia Zimmerman. They all lived in Ransom County, North Dakota as of about 1910.
Drayton married a Ruth, moved out west with the railroad to Washington State, and eventually divorced. He remarried Margaret Thompson, my grandmother.
Drayton's father, Samuel, was born ca 1865 in Canada. He immigrated to the US in ca 1884. His parents were both German. Don't know Julia's maiden name, though she was also born in Canada and was of English descent.
I would like to trace back Samuel and Julia's family trees. And also I'm guessing that I have a lot of family back in North Dakota. When Drayton died in 1957, my grandmother remarried and lost touch with the whole Zimmerman clan.
