Just checked in today (10-25) to find your message. Was busy traveling to Ky. to do more Trisler foot work ---looking for church attended and grave where gr. grandmother Jane (Smith), wife of James Trisler (son of John who was Leonard's bro.)buried. I got the names of Leonard & Sarah's children from census quite some time ago. Also have ch. of his second marriage from same. Do you know anything else about Sarah Zike, as any family tradition as to the cause of her death. All those first Trisler wives died before 1830 after going to southern Ohio as brides. John's wife must have died in childbirth with her ninth child as one family reunion poem composed in 1930's calls last child "little Dan?" as if to indicate that it was to be a boy and didn't get born completely at her death. That was June 1825 when she died. Child's name not recorded in family bible list of children. Belief at that time was that if child did not breathe the breath of life, it was not truly a child yet. This is speculation on my part.
