Henrietta Zielke from Danzig
I am seeking information about the Zielke family from which my great grandmother, Henrietta Zielke (born 23 Dec 1852 at Nie Chico, Germany), came.(I have never been able to determine if Nie Chico is really a place, or if it is misspelled.)Henrietta married Frederick Gotlieb Derseweh on 5 Oct 1873 in Danzig.I feel sure they were members of the Lutheran Church. She immigrated on the SS Fresea, leaving Hamburg on 22 Jun 1878, and landing in NYC on 3 Jul 1873.
Several of Henrietta & Frederick's children were born before they came to the U.S. Their places of birth were Branensdorf & Raxcine, Germany.
Henrietta's brother, Herman Zielke came to the U.S. at some time & was married to Nola, having daughters Lucy Maria & Catherine Zielke.Lucy Maria would have been born in approx.1898. There is a chance the Herman Zielkes preceeded Henrietta & Frederick in immigrating.A Gottlieb Zielke appears in lists in the same area where some of my family settled (Dayton, OH).He might also be related to us.
Does any of this info connect in any way with what you know of your family?I would be most interested in any information you have.Thank you for your assistance.
