Thanks again... this sounds likely to be the right guy... so i'll add him to my database and can eliminate the possibility that he was really Professor J.S. Zerbe. Having a tough time identifying J.S., he built a couple 5-6 wing airplanes in the 1908-1918 time frame, but just doesn't show up in census records or much of anything else...
