Thanks... i hadn't tried any of the alternate spellings... he's more the age i expected and the right place... will have to see if i can find him in a census and see if he was a professor... and whether i can identify any of his other family members as having been at that reunion... may help me eliminate him from my search for Professor J.S. Zerbe...

appreciate the help.... finding somebody with only initials can be a little too challenging <grin>
