Hello Leo,
I maybe a cousin of yours. My grandparents were Catherine and Anton Zent. Grandpa was born in Speier, Russia on December 25, 1885. Grandma came from Sulz, Russia and came to the United States around 1910. I am not sure when Grandpa came here. They married and had four children: Rose, Anna Mary, Hildagarde (my mother) and Louis. Aunt Anna lives in North Dakota and so did my Uncle Louis. He died in 2000. My mother and aunts are still living.
My grandfather came from a large family. His parents were Peter Zent, Anna Wetzstein. As far as I can tell, their children were: Christian, Anton (my grandfather) Jacob, Monica, Apollonia, Meana, Anna Mary, George, Joseph, Raphael, Ludwig, Peter and Valentine. I believe this large family was from two marriages, but I am really not sure of that either.
I am looking forward to hearing from you to see if we truly are related. I know there are a lot of "Zents" out there. I have plenty of cousins in the North Dakota area that I have not met and others that I have not seen in years.
