Liz

"My" David Zenner was born in Lichtenfels in 1816. However he married Babbette Frohman, and died in Cincinatti in 1891. His father was called Pfeiffer & his mother Edel (or Adelheid) Feust.

So he's not the same as your David, but 99% a cousin. You may not be aware of this but the Zenner's in Lichtenfels were a Jewish family. The Jewish custom is very often to name children or grandchildren for grandparents / parents who pass away. Two David Zenners born 1816 - 1818 in Lichtenfels to my mind implies at least a common great Uncle and probably a common grandfather.

Again, since the family was Jewish, records from this period are unlikely to be in Lichtenfels. More likely in the Bamberg or Nuernberg state archive as "Matrikel" or as reduced copies in the Central Archive for the History of the Jewish People in Jerusalem.

Best Regards

David
