Article on the Trial of John Peter Zenger, 1735

The January/February, 2007, issue of "American Spirit" magazine, put out by D.A.R. has an article on this man:

"Zenger wasn't a journalist or a lawyer. He wasn't a member of the ruling classes. He was a printer, a German immigrant, who had six children and a wife to support. He was also the right man in the right place at the right time. Zenger's trial in 1735 served as a catalyst for trials by jury and for the foundation of a free and open press in the United States."

The article mentions that Zenger was in prison for eight months. Others, including his wife, Anna, resumed publishing the paper. I did not see any other personal information on this man
