Georg Peter Zoellner, later known as Zellner, was a 'Hessian' soldier b. abt 1760 in Feurth or Fuerth, Anspach/Bavarian Region of Germany. He surrendered, with Burgoyne, to G Washington at York, Va and was imprisoned. He and some others escaped and stayed in the U.S., and as far as most of us Zellners can determine, 99% of the Zellners in this country originate from him. If you find more, especially the Zellners of Pa, please post the info.
