Zehners from Europe
My Zehner family came over from the Black Forest in the 1800's and settled in Philadelphia. My grandfather's name was Wilhelm and died when my father, Henry william Zehner, (1905 - 2004)was 12 years old.My grandfather was a baker in Philly. My father was a Methodist minister, first in the EUB Church and then in the United Methodist Church once they merged.THe Philadelphia Zehner family was very large (my grandfather left my grandmother with 13 children). My father is the only one of the 13 who went to college.I lived in Queens, NY, then Allentown, PA and then Philadelphia.I went to school in Boston, lived in Bucks County, PA for 26 years and am now in Northern VA.
I don't know too much more about my heritage, but would love to learn more about the Black Forest area in Germany.
