Valentine & Cassimira Zavala circa 1880
Hello to all 'Zavala's' out there!
I've been familiar with this site since 1998, and I was wondering if anyone has experienced positive results from this site? Although I've checked, periodically scanning theresponses, I've yet to come across any meaningful information that would assist in clearing up my past. I've never located any worthwhile leads to my relatives or family members in the nearly four years that I've been acquainted with this site.
Oh, this is not intended to demean, slam, flame, or otherwise negate its usefulness, because I believe it has much value. Its just that I've never been able to locate any mallable information. What I do see is a whole bunch of time jostling or cackling about who know's more than others. Who cares! Who cares if somebody wants to be the "All Wise, All Knowing?"
There is absolutely littleto prove by bickering over such trivial matters. Nothing matters more to many of us out here than finding our historical roots. As having lived a "Zavala," life for fourty five years, I see that debating is an inherent quality in us, and that assures me that I'm in company with my kindred.
However, I don't care if somebody needs to show others how much they know by demeaning others, but they should understand that many of us really need serious dialogue here. What matters most to me is finding my long lost family members. Something I think most will agree to as well.
Therefore, before arguing over 'Zavala' authenticity let's stop and consider those of us who don't really care. We need facts, just the facts, not a bunch of tongue thrashing over who know's more than somebody else.
Qualify what you mean and be courteous to others. These people who find they're way to this site are searching for the same thing we're all looking for, our family roots. More importantly, a good summation of this site would seem to suggest that a fair portion of the queries here are all family someway.
So, rather than bickering over who is, or who isn't a "Zavala" or "Zabala," or any other version there of, is not important. Let's get on with a more intelligent discourse by spending more time helping each other. Instead of trying to unmask the 'Zavala' imposter (slim shady) lets discover who we are, save the challenges and arguments for real issues. - Valentino Zavala
