Polish Names
My wife's Father's family emigrated from Poland in the early 1900's to Brazil. We have several names that I think were converted to Portuguese and would like to ask if anyone can help translate them into what they would have been natively in Poland. Thanks.
Maria Kaminski - Kaminski is common enough, but is Maria a polish name?
Esbeta Babix - I cannot find either the first name Esbeta or the surname Babix.
Miguel - We have two Miguel's. Was Miguel a common name or would it have been Michal?
Surname: Babibeta - I cannot find anything on this name.
First name with multiple spellings, what would have been the norm?: Estanislau, Stanislau, Stanislaw
Thanks,
Bret
