Zapf Family Genealogy Forum

I have been writing a family memoir and while doing research on my ggrandfather Frederic Hinz of Cincinnati (a coffee & tea importer), I ran across members of the Zapf Family. The Census of 1900 lists Kunigunda Zapf (b. May 1820 d. Nov. 2, 1905) a widow and her son Andrew Zapf (b. Dec. 1857 d. Feb. 2. 1905) also widowed, as living on the same property as the Hinz family on Juergens Street in the Clifton area of Cincinnati. Kunigunda had emigrated from Germany in 1840. At that time of the census Kunigunda was 80 and her son Andrew was 42. Andrew (born in Ohio) was working as a tailor.
The Zapfs are buried nearby in the Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Cemetery records also list Kunigunda’s husband John Zapf (b. 1824 d. 1893). Also buried there is Andrew’s daughter Kate Zapf Becker (b. March 16, 1880 d. July 13, 1953).
I am trying to determine why they were living in the same household or at least at the same address as the Hinzs and if they are related. Perhaps the connection is the coffee business. Teressa Hasty had said John Zapf Sr. had a café named “The Coffee House” and I’m wondering if this could be the connection.
