Zapf to Sapp
Posted by: Joan Wilson Date: May 09, 2000 at 20:47:45

My 5th great grandfather was Daniel Zapf who came to america in 1737 from Rotterdam landing in PA. The family migrated to MD, then to Ohio. Some where along the line after he came here, the name was transcribed to Sapp, which was my name. We are fairly sure he came from Germany, as his sons signed things in german script. We know nothing about Daniels place of birth or his parents. He was married to Plantina, but nothing is known on her. I was wondering if anyone may have any information on this line. There are a lot of Sapps who came from this german line, but before Daniel nothing is known. Thank you for any help. Joan Wilson
