Hi,
Zane Grey was my Grandmother's (Angella Zane Woods Sharp) cousin. His original name was Pearl Zane Grey (he lost the Zane surname through marriage.) If you'll notice, many Zanes' have used the last name as a first or middle name through all these years (as my grandmother's name is an example.) If you are related to the Wyandottes, it is through Isaac Zane (my many x-great uncle, brother to my x-great grandfather William.) Isaac was captured by the indians when he was a child in southern Ohio. He was taken north, and there he married the chief's daughter. There is a very small town there named Zanesfield. Zanesville was named after Col. Ebenezer Zane, who donated the land. He fought in the civil war and was father to Betty Zane. All Zanes (as far as I know) are descended from my great (x many) grandfather, who was Robert Zane, who came over here about 1680, and we are fortunate enough to have the official family tree. So, I guess, Hello relative.
