Jean we do have Zahm's who came to the United States in the late part of the 1800's ..They settled here in Ohio where I live They are said to of come from Prussia( France)One is Peter J Zahm/Saam Born Dec 24 1825 Prussia Died April 3 1903 in Homes Co Ohio.He was married to a Elizabeth Catarina Gribbler also was a brother we believe named Johann NIcholas Zahm/Saam Born Feb 14th 1830 Prussia Who married a Maria Catharina? They had a Son named Johann N who was born in Prussia and came across with his parents(More children wre born when they got to Ohio) Bible records show,Peter arrived in the U.S in May of 1954 Does any of this sound Familliar..Another note..there are other Zahms who arrived as well..My Zahm line arrived in 1753 aboard the Neptune and their Spelling was Changed to SAUM.So when you research your Zahm's make sure you look under this spelling as well.MOst immagrents changed their names to the American version..Good luck.
