My Grgrandfather was George Yuncker, born February 22, 1838 in Strasbourg, Fr. d. 11 March 1911 in Perrington, MI. The next known of him is when he enlisted in the NY Inf. 10 March 1862 at Buffalo, NY, then the Heavy Artiliary at Rikers Island, NY. Discharged 26 Sept.1865 in Wash. D.C. His parents as listed on his marriage certificate, were Jacob Albertus and Barbara Gos, (later listed as Gosel). He married 6 June 1866 Elizabeth Hawk, at St Josephs Church in St. Johns, MI., dtr of Philip Hawk and Marie Pohl. They had 8 children of which the first Albert, was my grandfather. He married Lillian Wilson and they lived in Bloomer Twp. Montcalm Co. MI when my father Truman George, was born, 20 Mar 1891.
I think that Mathias G, (5th child) b. 5 November 1877 and Phillip H.J.,(7th child) b. 23 Decemer 1882 had children, as I have seen listings. I get no response to my inquiries on these names.
I am searching for any of the children of the above two families, also as to the ship and/or when George arrived in this country.
