Hi everyone. I just found out today from my ggggrandfather's civil war pension records that he was married to an Eliza Yoxtheimer. Eliza was born 1819, in Pa., and died Oct. 1862 in Wysox, Bradford Co. Pa. She was married to George Nichols, and they got married on Jan. 3, 1838 in Lycoming Co., Pa. They were married by the Justice of the Peace, John Mahaffrey. Two witnesses that came forward on the pension records that stated they were at the wedding were Lydia Bailey and ELizabeth Reed. George and Eliza's children were:
Mary- born March 2, 1840, married #1, Joel Allis, #2 Frank
Jeremiah- born c. 1843- died in the Civil War
Amanda- born June 2, 1845, married Herbert Barnes
Maria- born March 14, 1847, married George Wickizer
Hiram- born May 31, 1849
Alvin- born March 6, 1851
Mary Jane- born March 9, 1853
Franklin- born Dec. 8, 1855, married Etta Brink
Isaac- born January 12, 1857
Jefferson- born Jan. 3, 1861
George Nichols died May 23, 1864 during a battle of the Civil War.
If anyone knows anything about Eliza or her family, I would love to hear from you.
