Yowell Family Genealogy Forum
Sorry about the misunderstanding, but as indicated in my post, I was referring to Pickens Co., SC. The old Pendleton District was divided into Anderson Co. and Pickens Co. in 1829. Oconee Co., SC was later carved out of Pickens Co.
The history of the Yowells, Striblings, Jones, et al that I am interested in ended in SC where they died. A Sloan ancestor moved to Pontotoc Co. and a Sherman ancestor moved from SC to Lowndes Co., MS. which is just across the line from Pickens Co., AL. I believe that Pickens Co., AL was a part of another county (Lafayette ??) at that time and my ancestor owned property in both states as he lived right at the line. If I find any information on the people that you mentioned, I will contact you.
