Fulton Monroe Yow (1825-1910) of Stanly and Union counties of NC
Am researching the Loves and find there is a connection with the Yows.
Am curious abt. Fulton's oldest son Christoper C. Yow and his first marriage to Francis E. Love on 10 June 1877.By 1880 she is 23, has a small daughter Martha, and is working as a servant to a Morgan family in Stanly County, NC.She is listed as Francis (spelled always with an i)Yow.Where is her husband?By 1910 she is Francis E. Love, age 54, and is a servant in Union County. At Antioch Bapt. Church Cem. in Union County is Francis E. Love, Feb. 23, 1855 to Jan.3, 1929.
I think this is another dau. of Fulton M. and Elvira Yow:Julia A. Yow(18 Oct.1851-8 Apr. 1892)married James Symon Love(1854-1883)on 18 June 1874 (from Bible record). On 1870 census Julia is 19 and living w. the James E. Love family.By 1880 she and James have begun a family and living with them is Henry Yow, brother-in-law to James, who is a son of Fulton. But now she is only 27!Makes one wonder if she could be the Mary J. of the 1850 census of Cabarrus County or a different daughter.
Along with other Stanly County men suspected of robbing banks with the Jesse James gang(from Ralph P. Ganis book "Uncommon Men"), were Monroe Yow and his son Daniel Jackson Yow.Could the older son Christopher have also been involved and thus the name change from Yow to Yaw?
