I have done a bit of research, and have found that "Yow" is origonally from Scottland. I am from Ohio, as is my father Paul. His father, Frank, is from either north or south Carolina, and we know little more than that.
The first Yow to come to America was Alexander Yuill (a variation) in 1774, and he settled in New York.
