Sandy,
I believe Mary Jane Thompson and Rachel Ann Yonker are probably the children of Jane Pancake who married William W. Thompson in Columbiana Co., Ohio on April 28, 1836.I found this marriage listed on Genealogy.com's CD #400, "Selected Counties of Ohio, 1789-1850 Marriage Index" online at their GenealogyLibrary.com website.William Pancake, Senior didn't buy his land in Coshocton Co. until the following year, 1837; which is probably the year he moved his family there from Columbiana County.
I found a "Mary Jane" and a "Rachel A" on the 1850 census of Jefferson Twp., Coshocton Co., OH in the household of William and Elizabeth Thompson. The complete listing is:
1850 U.S. Census, Jefferson Twp., Coshocton Co., Ohio, pages 170A and 170B, Dwelling and Family number 106:
William Thompson38 M Farmer 2000 Pa
Elizabeth"26 F"
Mary Jane"12 FO
Rachel A"10 F"
John5 MO
George M2 M"
Presumably, Jane died sometime after Rachel's birth and William married again. The Elizabeth listed on the census record is too young to be Mary Jane's mother.I checked the book "Marriages, Coshocton County, Ohio, 1811-1930" by Miriam C. Hunter and found this marriage that would fit the William Thompson listed above:
Thompson, William - Elizabeth Maggs - 24 Mar 1842
The International Genealogical Index at www.familysearch.org lists the marriage of Annie R. Thompson to Jason T. Yunker on 14 Feb 1867 in Coshocton County.A search of census records for this couple shows that "Annie" is listed as "Rachel" on the 1870 and 1900 censuses.A biographical sketch of Jason says that he settled in Colorado in 1858 and returned there with Rachel Ann after their marriage. They lived at Denver where Jason first farmed and then moved into the city and became a real estate dealer. The Denver city directories show that they spelled their surname "Younker".By 1900 Jason and Rachel Ann had moved to San Patricio Co., Texas with their son Perry T. Younker. The census states that Rachel had given birth to five children. The 1880 census lists Perry T., Harley, Inez, and an unnamed baby girl.
