Mrs. Sarah Ann HILDEBRAND, aged 89 years, widow of Elder David
HILDEBRAND, who had been ill of a
complication of ailments for some time, died Saturday evening at the
home of her step-daughter, Mrs. Lorena
REIGHARD, 335 First Street, Conemaugh.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2;30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in
the Conemaugh Church of the Brethren,
Second Street, by the Rev. S.W. Pearce, pastor, assisted by the Rev. J.P. STRAYER. Interment will be in the family
plot in the Headrick Cemetery.
Mrs. Hildebrand was born in Upper Yoder Township in 1841, a daughter of
Solomon & Mary (YOUNKER) VICKROY, who were among the settlers of that district. Miss Sarah A. VICKROY & Elder HILDEBRAND were married in the fall of 1887 by the Rev. Christian Detwiler, of the Dunkard Church. The HILDEBRANDS resided in Park Hill, East Taylor Township, for a number of years, later moving to Franklin Borough, where Mrs. HILDEBRAND resided for for a period of 30 years before moving to Conemaugh. Elder HILDEBRAND died suddenly in March, 1914, aged 79 years. Mrs. HILDEBRAND has been a member of the Church of the Brethren for the last 72 years.
Mrs. HILDEBRAND was the last survivor of a family of seven children. Her brothers and sisters were Adam VICKROY; Catherine, wife of Crispen DORER; Elizabeth, wife of Christian HOFECKER; Mary Ann, wife of Fred KELS, and George and Solomon VICKROY. Mrs. HILDEBRAND is survived by the
following step-children: Alice, widow of William VICKROY, Gary, Indiana; Lorena, wife of William REIGHARD, Conemaugh; and Lovenas HILDEBRAND, Moxham. Three step-children died some years ago---Jenny, Emmanuel and Harry HILDEBRAND.
