Hi Dev
I'm a newcomer to this forum and have just seen your posting. I too am descended from the Alexander Youngson who was married to Helen Chapman, through John Youngson, Margaret Mearns' brother. Our family tree earlier than that is rather hazy, and I wonder if your researches have come up with anything more. I'd be very interested.
Like you, I've seen the census entry about Alexander Y./ Helen Y when he was 78. This Alexander Youngson, in his earlier years, was a baker in Rosehearty, according to papers we have in the family. I have a fairly full list of his children, which I can send you if you don't have it.
Cheers,
Pat Bond (great granddaughter of John Youngson)
