I am searching for information regarding Vernon Youngblood. I don't know if he had a middle name or not. I believe he was born in Tucumcary New Mexico.
All I know about him is that he had several siblings. He was born in the late 1800's. He had red hair and was 6'4".
He was my grandfather. He had 3 daughters that I know of, one of which was my mother. My understanding is that after a very serious argument (most likely violent) with his father and brother he left home and never returned. He changed his name to Vernon Jones.
I only recently was given the last name of Youngblood. My mother died over 20 years ago and her two sisters are getting pretty old and would like to know more about their family.
I don't know if he ever contacted his family again.
I have been told that he was a very violent, heavy drinking man.
One report was that he shot both his father and brother. I don't know if it was fatal or even true.
