Johan Frederick (Larson) Youngberg ,
I just wanted to suggest another source for the name Youngberg. My great-grandfather, Johan Frederick (Larson) Youngberg was born in 1848 at Tunhem, a farming community near Trollhatten, Sweden. His father was Lars Olofson. As I understand, the name Youngbergcame from the name of their farm (something like "Youngbacken", if I remember correctly). He died of TB in 1885.In 1891 his wife Emma Tyberg Youngberg and their only surviving child, Augusta Frederika Youngberg (my grandmother) emigrated to Utah. The mother died shortly after arrival of TB.
So, perhaps, a few other Youngbergs have adopted "placenames", instead of the name changing as they came to the US.Just a thought...Pat Payne
