I am not related.Unless you can find a christening record there may be no way to put Lucinda as a child of Alpheus and Sally. BUT.... In 1850 Alpheus Young b. 1798 d. 1866 is living in the poor house in Burrillville and he remains there in 1860 dying in 1866.Sally Ann Taft 1799-1843.Because in 1850 Lucinda is shown as age 7 and residing with Alpheus T. Young 24 RI card grinder and Sarah A. 19 they cannot be Lucinda's parents but rather her older siblings. They are living with Rufus & Lydia Amidon who are in their 30s.
Alpheus T. Young b. ca. 1826 moves to Worcester Co., Mass where he married Ruth Maria Alverson b. 1828 Mass d. between 1900-1910 in Worcester Co., Mass.
There is only one public tree at ancestry.com for Alpheus & Sally and they only show the son, Alpheus b. 1826 and no other children; yet in 1840 Alpheus & Sally show: 2 males 10/14, 2 males 15/19, 1 male 40/49, 1 male 80/89; 1 female 10/14, 1 female 40/49, 1 female 80/89.Since Sally died in 1843 it appears that Lucinda's siblings took charge of her and raised her until her marriage to David Baker. The parents shown for Alpheus b. 1798 are: Otheniel Young b. 1/29/1758 and d. 1840 Uxbridge, Worcester Co., Mass and Esther Phillips b. 1760 d. 1841 buried at Burrillville, RI.Otheniel Young shows on the 1840 Providence Co., RI census as a veteran of the Revolutionary War.He applied in 1833 for a Pension under #S21593, Continental Army from Rhode Island.
It appears that in 1840 Otheniel and wife, Esther, were residing with son Alpheus b. 1798 and Sally.
Additional Young family members residing in Burrillville: Teleg young 60/70, Ezekiel young 40/50, Daniel Young 30/39, Israel young 40/49, Jason 20/29 and Otheniel 50/59 (son, not the father).
Lucinda's age on various census records jumps around as in 1880 she shows as 52 but in 1870 she shows as 25.Lydia Amidon age 37 with whom Alpheus, Sarah and Lucinda are residing in 1850 may in fact be an older sister to them.
If you cannot find a christening record you may need to search for an obituary which would show any living siblings and thus tie her to Alpheus and Sally.Alpheus T. Young (the brother to Lucinda) b. 1826 d. 5/7/1923 in Sutton Worcester Co., Mass and resided there from 1860 until his death in 1923.
Good luck in your search, sorry I could not give you something concrete.
