Yes, I'm aware of the www.fscompass.com site, since I'm the owner of it. I would warn you, though, that I am going to abandon that site in June 2013 and am in the long process of updating files and moving them to my newer site, http://www.HooperCompass.comhttp://www.HooperCompass.com
Re: Catharine's marriage records. I'm sure you've noted that Patience Hooper testified the marriage was in Madison County near Baltimore, Maryland, yet there isn't such a county in Maryland. I think the reference to Madison County was a partial memory failure on the part of Patience, because her mother apparently was enumerated as head of household in Madison County, KENTUCKY, in 1810 and was probably the woman aged over 45 in the 1820 Madison Co., KY home of Vachel Young [the 1820 head of household was likely son or nephew of Catherine and Vachel, SR.] So Patience Hooper likely was mixing up what she knew to be prior residencies of her mother.
Thus, it's really not clear just what jurisdiction might have any extant marriage record. My guess is that the best way to find more info about Vachel and Catherine Young would be to try to locate one of the later 19th century "vanity biographies" for one of their descendants.
Judging by the 1790 Vachal Young and 1800 Catherine Young census households in Wilkes County, NC, the couple had a least one son born by 1790, and 5 to 6 daughters. I think one of those daughters is the Rebecca Young who married Joseph Nickelson 20 Jan 1801 in Wilkes; there's a Joseph Nicholson home in Madison Co., KY in 1810, with a household consistent with what might be expected from the 1801 NC marriage. I have no idea what happened to the rest of this family, however.
