Do you know anything about a John Young in Duplinand his wife unknown being murdered by the 'Overhill cherokee" indians in mid 1700's? This was to have taken place at Duplin Station (fort). Their sons, John and William Young were captured and lived with the Indians for about 8 years and were finally released back in VA or NC when William was about 21 years old. William married Elizabeth Holland. John became a Major amd was in New Orleans in 1798-99 because William visited him there and on his return to TN died 1799 at Tillman Dixon's home in TN (which was once located in the Carolina's before TN became a state. I would love to find the name of John and William's parents for sure.
