Seeking information on parents of Margaret Jane Young born 15 May 1848 Braxton County, Va [WVA], died 8 Jan 1933 Montgomery, Kanawha Dist., Fayette County, West Virginia. On her death certificate her father is listed as Silas Young. She was married about 1869 to John William Peatt[Pyatt] of Nicholas County, WVa. Margaret and John had a daughter they named Louvina.
I found these marriage records :

Marriage: 31 MAY 1838 , Bath, Virginia
Husband SILAS YOUNG
Marriage: 16 SEP 1844 , Bath, Virginia
Wife LAVENIA PULLIN
Was Lavenia born a Pullin or was that her name from her first marriage? John H. is listed with his parents in the Virginia censuses until his death in 1861 in Highland County, Va.. His parents were Samuel Pullin and Nancy Henry.
The 1850 Census for Braxton Co., Va lists:
Silas Young 28
Lavinia Young 32
Mariann C Young 5
James H. Young 3
John W. Young 2
Jesse M Young 1
Henry Young 25
Margaret is not listed here.
They had a son Washington S. Young born 1854 who only lived 10 days.
Evidently Lavenia died between 1854 and 1856. In 1856, Silas married Margaret Dailey. They are listed in Kanawha County in 1860, 1870 and 1880 but none of the children from his first marriage are listed with him. I found the three boys listed in other households in Braxton County in 1860 but no trace of the girls or Lavenia in Braxton County or Kanawha County. In 1900 Silas and Margaret are listed in Nicholas County living with their son William B. Young. Silas is said to be the son of John Young and Elizabeth Kephart.
