I looked up your Harriet Youmans, but I was unable to find her parents. Several people on Ancestry and Rootsweb have this family, but none of them know who Harriet's parents were. From some pages of an old book I know that Jonathon Youmans lived in Haverstraw and had 10 children. The youngest, Ezekiel, b. in 1781, was father of Wilson Drake Youmans, b. 1822. Then there was Abraham Youmans, b. 1782 in Orange Co., NY, lived in Haverstraw and sailed a boat between NYC and Haverstraw on the Hudson--died 1830--drowned in that same Hudson--He had a son John, b. 1805. You might look these names up as possible ancestors of your Harriet.
Our ancestors ended up in Steuben Co., NY, and then over to Chemung Co, NY, and some went south to Cattaraugus Co., NY.
