Hi, Sharon,
Welcome to the Yost can of worms. Let me begin by saying that I posted that message 3 years ago and have learned a few things since.
Nicholas Yost died March 8, 1787. In his will he names his wife Catharine, son Abraham (whom he virtually disinherits), daughters Mary Laub, Ann Streithoff and Catharine Burnhart. Some people think this Nicholas was born about 1713, but that can't be proved.
There is a lot of misinformation floating around about which Yost married whom when. I haven't been able to find any evidence that Abraham Yost married Elizabeth Feiser, in spite of some documents that have circulated on the Internet. Abraham did marry someone named Elizabeth, but the last name is in doubt. Some sources say it was Harrison, but that appears to be a different Abraham, one who lived in Berks County, not York County.
The younger Abraham Yost b. May 5, 1792, married Anna Maria Feiser. In Gibson's "A Biographical History of York County, Pennsylvania," published in 1886, there is a biography of Peter F. Yost, which says he was the "...son of Abraham and Maria (Feiser) Yost..." (page 58). Her tombstone at Neiman's Church in West Manchester Township reads "Yost, Anna Maria, wife of Abraham, Sept 23, 1790 - Mar. 12, 1859."
That doesn't help us, however. Your Jacob Yost, husband of Julia Crosby, is the older brother of my ggggrandfather, Charles Kauffman Yost. Their parents were Jacob Yost and Mary M (Magdaline?). Again, the documents that say that Jacob's wife was Mary Ann Kauffman cannot be substantiated in the record, but I have seen her tombstone and the initial after her first name is M. In the family Bible of Mary Webb, sister of Jacob and Charles, it says that "Grandmother Youste" was Mary Magdalene. I've seen one source that says her last name was Amery (or Emery?), but I haven't been able to confirm that, either.
Lastly, I can't confirm that Jacob (the elder) was the son of Abraham. It seems likely, but there is no documentation to support it.
Sorry I can't be more help. I wish you luck in solving these mysteries. I'll let you know if I make any more progress.
Best,
Richard Aurand Sherer
