Hi Trevor,

Thankyou for your posting, I have checked for a connection between our relatives but I have been unable to find a link
so far. I hadn't heard of the name being connected to shoe making before but It all adds to the interesting tapestry of genealogy.
Since my postings I have managed to visit Thorney [Where William Frederick married Maria] and spent a morning looking around the lovely village, It really is as if time has stood still.I also managed to travel through Eye [where the family were in 1881]and on to Peterborough but I was unable to confim details of Fredericks marriage to Martha[Williams parents]so a trip to Cambridge record office looks like the best option.
I will let you know if I connect our famillies at some later stage

Tony Morton
Sheffield
