Yorke Family of cambridgeshire

My great grandfather was born in Kings Cliffe, a few miles to the east of Peterborough around 1850. His Christian name was Edward and he had a twin brother, Isaac. Their father, also called Edward I think, was born in a village called Lower (formerly Nether) Benefield, just outside Oundle, again not far from Peterborough. His father, Luke was born (in about 1780, I think) in another village close by. I don't know if the members of my family are related to yours. Did you know, by the way, that the name YORKE is derived from the Saxon word Jerke, meaning shoemaker? (that was my grandfather's explantion anyway!). In apparent support of this theory, all the forebears I have been able to trace, up to my grandfather, were involved with shoe making.
