I've been trying to get information on my grandfather: Arvel Clyde York, Born 1912 in Anderson Co., near Townville, SC - Died 1976 in Crisp Co.,Cordele,GA.
According to the 1920 census he lived in the home of his uncle Jesse Davis and aunt Della Davis (I believe Della and Magny were sisters) in Anderson Co.,near Center,SC with his mother and sister. His mother (Magny York) was listed as Widowed. If your doing "York" research, any information will be helpful.
I rarely see his name in records ,other than the ss index or his death certificate and just once in the census. If someone has a record of him in there line and knows his fathers name,that would be of great help.
