Mr. Yonts:

The William Yantz in the German Bible you mentioned is definitely NOT William Yonts, Sr., the father of Solomon Yonts.

We have done extensive research on this question. William Yonts, Sr. was born between 1771 and 1776, a generation after William Yantz, who was born in 1752.

Also we know the names of William Yonts, Sr.'s wives and children, and they do not match those of William Yantz.

Currently our hunch is that the families of William Yantz and William Yonts, Sr. are indeed related. But thus far, despite years of research, no one has been able to definitively connect them.

It would appear, at this point, that William Yantz is the son of one WILHELM JANS, born in 1714 in Oberalben, Rhineland Pfalz, Germany; died in 1778, in Rowan County, North Carolina. But even this notion is suspect by some.

Please visit our Yonts genealogy web site, and post any questions you have there. We would enjoy your input and contributions.
