Taraleen Elliott:I'm getting really confused (and not for the very first time, either). My husband is a descendant of Marcus (Marques) Yokley, of Tompkinsville,Ky., and through Marcus and Nancy Lunsford Yokley's daughter, Rebecca, then Rebecca's son, John Wesley Yokley and his wife, Nancy Ann Hammer.John Wesley had fourteen children, beginning in August of 1867 and continuing at the rate of almost one a year. Those children were:Elmore, Mary Elizabeth(m. John D. Emberton), Melissa(or Malissa, who married Rufus E. Gresham), Hester Rodger (m. J.B.Bryant), John Wesley,Jr., Samuel Boles, Eva D.("Evie", who married Steven Moody Vance), Nannie(m. W.W.Hale), James Thomas, Dollie Frances(m. Walter F. Bartley), Florence Rebecca(m. E. H. Martin), and Sidney Marcus Yokley--my husband's grandfather.Sidney Marcus and Harriet Rush Yokley had four chilren who survived to adulthood-- Ben Marrs (my father-in-law), Martha Alma(m. Jessie Emberton), Hester(m. Delmer Ford), and Sidney Earl.Ben and Earl both settled in Williamsville, Illinois, Alma stayed in Ky., and Hester and her family also live in Illinois. So you see, some of the names are the same, but I'm not sure we're not mixing up a couple of lines, here.
