I have the parents of Marie-Catherine MARTIN who married Jean-Baptiste JOCKEL/YOCKEL/YOKELL (and about 12 other alternate spellings!) July 1786 in Kamouraska. Also, PRDH Record No. 349524, on July 3, 1786. From that same source I learned her parents: Jean MARTIN and Marie-Josephe MICHAUD, along with her grandfather, Jean MICHAUD. They were witnesses to her wedding. Following the ceremony, Jean-Baptiste "abjured his heritage and gave his confession of faith" (which I think means he was Protestant and he converted to Roman Catholic). ---Linda
