I have been surffing the net and I'm new to this. I just read your message and perhaps this may help you. My mother's maidden name was Elsie Lucile Yock (B Oct l7 l888 West Union, Iowa) Her was Louis Martin Yock (B Jan 8, l862 Westfield Iowa) My mother spoke of a uncle named John Yock. Hope this helps. This spelling of Yock is German in orgin.
