Yoho Murder, 5 Apr 1892, Wheeling, WV

On 5 Apr 1892 in her home in Wheeling, WV, Hannah (Yoho) Maier was murdered by her husband, William Maier. In one of the articles about the event she was also listed as, Marie.

She was a daughter of William Yoho formerly of Woodsfield, Monroe Co., OH, who was living in Triadelphia, WV. She had at least two sisters, one of whom was 12 years old at the time of the murder.

William Maier was found guilty of the murder. He was hung in the yard of the Wheeling jailhouse on 18 Nov 1892.

Does anyone know more about this branch of the Yoho family? Where does William Yoho fit into the Yoho family tree?

Dick Henthorn
