Thanks for responding, Joe. Sounds like you've done your homework! Here are the headlines:
The earliest information I have is from Ptricia Trioli, maiden name, Yourell, in Melbourne Australia, who has been
researching Yourell family in ireland, has made friends with the
locals, and plans to go there again.
Patrick Yourell, and Mary Logan of County of
Meath, Dunboyne Quarryland Ireland, had 8 children between 1819-1832.
One child, Walter, was born in 1832, and came to Melbourne by ship "Donald McKay" Dec. 1856 aged 26 as an Irish labourer.
Walter is the g/g/g/grandfather of Alan Yourell, who lives in Australia.
Another child, Edward, may have been my ancestor. An Edward Yourell Sr., according to my father, came to Canada at age twelve as a stow-away. His parents were unknown, but he was born in Dublin, Ireland between approximately 1825-1835. This time period matches the birth of the Edward that Patricia described.

I am looking for information on my grandfather who departed Ireland for Scotland somewhere betwiin 1909 and 1926. He was married to Martha McMahon possibly from Limerick possibly around 1899-1900. She died around 1912. He had a brother named Philip. There are Yourell and Urell buried in Glasnevin Cemetary. I don't know if they are any relation or not. My Uncle Robert is buried among them so they may be. Any information would be appreciated. The region I am interested in is Dublin. Thank You.

From what I understand Yowell was also spelled Owell, Awell, Yewell, Uhle, Ouell,& Yowel. I am just getting into the Yowell research but as a child I remember my Dad telling about his Uncle who rode with Mosby. However, a copy I have showed him with Co. C, 4th VA Cav. His name was Walker J Yowell. I also have a book showing a John Yowell w/Pegram's Batt. Art. & Wm. L. Yowell with Co. C,4th Va Cav. There was also a Thomas O. Yowell Co. C 7th VA Inf. These were all from Madison & Culpeper Counties in the Civil War. I will keep your address & will forward any other info I might find.
