Yoell of Chertsey (later Yeowell)
Posted by: James R. Yeowell Date: December 17, 2000 at 14:50:23

Hello,

Just thought I would mention that my surname Yeowell was once spelt Yoell in Chertsey, Surrey, England in around 1624 to 1650s.

The first mention of Yoells in Chertsey is on 29 November 1624, when a marriage between Thomas Yoell and Annis Feild occurred, these are possible descendents of mine, as the name later was spelt Yeowell in Chertsey and so they are probably related to Thomas in some way.

If this couple had children then the name may have changed in several aspects or just stayed as Yoell, so somebody else maybe linked to them.

If anybody can help, please e-mail me.

Regards,

James R. Yeowell, Wiltshire, England
