Hi Jean....I'm responding to your post on the Yothers of South Carolina.
I was adopted as an infant... I've always wanted to know my birth mother...her name was Helen Lee Yother..
as well as on my original birth certificate, I did some looking back at the Hill Directories here in Richmond VA..
Her name is listed as well as Wilburn Monroe Yother...
They were Both working at a restaurant called Phil's Place.
I know my mothers birth place as well...it was Orangeburg South Carloina.
I am now 52 and was born in Richmond VA in 1951.
If you can help me, I would so appreciate it..
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw your post and there were both names that I'd been searching for, for so many years

thanks
Betty
