Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I'm just fishing, but that's how desperate I am in researching Jacob Roads' lineage. He died in Penn Township, Phila. Co. in 1831, leaving widow Christiana Barr Roads and at least 6 children. I have come across Yocums twice in my research: once, in Pottsgrove, Montgomery County,PA in 1820, where Jacob Roads (perhaps not the same as my ancestor) is in census records among Jonas, David, and Daniel Yocum, and again, in 1850 Manayunk, Philadelphia Co., where Jacob Roads' son John Roads (age 31), a boatman, and wife Sara are enumerated in a house with James Yocum (age 22), a shoemaker, and wife Caroline.
I would like to know if there is any reason to pursue the Yocum family.
