My grandmother Alta Yerion had copied her father's Union discharge papers and had written down some info given to her by Illinois and Nebraska relatives.
What I have is:
David J. H. Yerion married Elizabeth Stookey in Trivolla, Peoria Co. Illinois. February 07, 1867. Grandmother said that John and Susie Yearing come from Alsace Lorraine France. Settled near what is now Charlston, W. Va. in early 1800. I have since found that a Sally Miller Yerion lived in Peoria Co. and had come from Wythe County. A Family Tree Maker 7 # 1806 had David J. H. Yerion as son of George and Sally Yerion. Sally dying in Nebraska. She is listed in 1860 Peoria Co. Ill. and husband died in Peoria Co. ILL. 1800 VA Wythe Co, VA Tax list has a George Yion living between John Younce (Yost) and Peter Younce. Yost's were German and came from PA. 1820 John Yeager and George Yearian listed. 1834 a will of George Yearing listed George, William and Joseph Yerion with Daivd Miller to appraise the estate. FT Maker 10# 0801 has this family connected through Mathias Jurian from Germany using the book by James Weaver. He has Conrad Yerion going to VA. (I have found nothing about a Conrad in Wythe Co.)

Does anyone know who the first Yearion was who went to VA. and how they are connected to the George Yearions listed in Census?
