Who is Birdie Yerger, Sunflower Co. MS, 1920 Census ?
I am searching for Birdie Yerger's father. She was shown in the household of her grandparents in Sunflower Co., Ms. at Morehead, Ms. in 1920. Birdie was 4 years old that year. I am researching all leads to my Gibson family in Sunflower, Montgomery, and Carroll Counties in Miss. The grandparents were Jesse J. Gibson and wife Jennie (Doyle)Gibson.
Judging from the age of the child and of Jesse and Jennie's known children on the previous census, the mother is probably Mable (who would have been 25) and would be old enough to have a 4 year old daughter.Who could the father be?I don't know further details about Yerger's but these Gibsons lived in Morehead, Ms. in Sunflower Co.Their ancestor was James W. Gibson who our research shows came from Lebanon (Wilson Co.) Tn.to Carroll Co., Ms. before 1860. (also for a time in Yalobusha Co.).Some of this family also lived in the adjoining county of Montgomery.
The known family generations on the Gibson side are as follows:
James W. Gibson b. 1802- possibly married 3 x to Unknown, Rachel Bowers in 1830 and Mrs. Mary Skinner late 1850's.
2nd generation: Jesse G. Gibson b. 1827 m. Mary Ann Scrivner in Carroll Co., Ms. and their son
3rd generation: Jesse J. Gibson b. 1860 married Jennie Doyle.
4th generation: I believe Mable Gibson b. ca 1895 is the mother of Birdie Yeager, who was born about 1916 so she would have married a Yerger about 1915 and would have been around 25 years old in 1920.
If anyone recognizes where Birdie Yerger fits in the
Yerger family, and can identify her father, would you please contact me?Thanks, Martha.
